My affiliate AwsomelyNerf contacted me earlier this morning with some great information. AN is down in Singapore, and has gotten a sneak peak of the new N-Strike Elite Pinpoint Sight by means of a guide book distributed out at local toy stores. The stores have been having “Elite tryout” games and he managed to get the pamphlet there. Apparently they have also been handed out at the 2012 Malaysian Nerf Dart Tag Tournament as well.
EDIT: I misunderstood. The guide book is ONLY distributed at the dart tag tournament. The store promotions are still really cool though. 🙂
Breakdown of the games:
Grab a locked, loaded, and ready to fire Retaliator.
Aim at two rows of targets. Four targets on top, worth 5 points each, Four targets on bottom, worth 2 points each.
Fire. Hitting the targets earns you points. If you earn enough, you win a Nerf prize.
No word yet on how exactly the sight functions (It may work exactly the same as the N-Strike version or it may be better) but man it looks cool! Thanks AN for the info!
YAAARRR!! Thar she blows!! Hoist the mainsail and man the oars! Capture the mighty beast we must!… YAAAARR!!!
So my soon-to-be-favorite-blaster-of-all-freakin’-time hit shelves today. The Pyragon was publicly launched this morning with the Nerf N-Strike Elite line, and well, here are some pictures of this massive white whale of a blaster! 😀
Call me Captain freakin’ Nemo, but I WILL have this blaster!
Up until recently people have been wondering if the 40-round Vortex drum was designed specifically for the Pyragon, or if it’s a universal Vortex clip. Welp, the box says it’s universal. That means that if you feel like switching things up for a battle, or if you’re in a war with a no-rapid-fire rule, you can still use this massive clip in either the Nitron or Praxis. Nice move Nerf.
Today is August 1st, and that means that the N-Strike Elite line has officially launched! The new blasters (Retaliator, Rampage, and Hail-Fire) can now be purchased in-store in most major retailers. Today I went on a quest to find out where they’re available, and here’s what I found.
Nerf N-Strike Elite Retaliator selling for $24.99 at Target.
Hey guys, so I was contacted earlier today by a guy named AwesomeNerfer1999, who has a blog, by the way. Awesome had taken a close look at the box art of the new Firestrike, the elitified version of the Nitefinder, and he noticed something pretty unique about it. The thing has two triggers. Now I don’t know if anybody has posted about this before, but his is the only site I’ve seen mention it. On the box art you can see one large tigger, partially hidden by the docking strap on the Elite Tactical Vest, and another smaller one beneath it. Awesome speculates (and I agree) that this secondary trigger is likely to operate the Firestrikes underbelly light, assuming the Firestrike still has a light. This freedom of control over the light would be an awesome addition to the blasters functionality when it comes to stealth missions. The Nightfinders light HAD to come on before it would fire, not the best for sneaky attacks.
Another idea Awesome has is that Nerf may have upgraded the light itself. While this is unconfirmed, Nerf has been upgraded many of its products, and it wouldn’t surprise me if the new Firestrike features a light that reaches further than the Nightfinders (about 15 feet, remember?).
So shinies, what ELSE could this curious little trigger be? Tell me in the comments! And visit AwesomeNerfer1999 for another cool site to look at.
Vas the Stampede from Foam From Above has received his Nerf Vortex Pyragon! He gives us high def. pictures of this unreleased blaster, and mentions future releases on the box art. I’ll just get out of the way and let the pictures do the talking. 😉
This thing looks like a beast, and I can’t wait to use it against some zombies.*cough cough* Nerf, send me one! *cough!* This is also the first pic. we have of the Pyragon with a stock attached, which makes it look even bigger and tougher.
Notice in the thumbnail that the Refreshed Nitron comes with an extra 10-disc clip, and the new Vortex Shield. That, up until now, was unconfirmed. Way to go Vas!
Vas also goes over the drum mag in more detail than we’ve had before. We now know that each interior clip is numbered, and your remaining ammo can easily be monitored by using the large, rear window. This blaster has GOT to be one of (if not THE) most powerful blaster yet. Way to go Nerf!!
Nerf announced on FaceBook today that the new Vortex Pyragon, the most powerful blaster in the Vortex line up so far, will be released to the Nation on the 1st of August, just two weeks away. My trigger finger is already itching. How ’bout yours? 😉
What’s that on the horizon? Looks like the first-ever drum fed Nerf Vortex blaster, featuring 40 disc capacity and slam-fire capability. The Vortex Pyragon blaster, hitting shelves 8/1. The future looks bright.
Nerf has sorta secretly released the new N-Strike Elite Stockade, and you can go get one now!! If you live in the United Kingdom, at least. For those of you who aren’t quite sure what a stockade is, it’s the upgraded version of the Barricade RV-10. We really didn’t hear much about this blaster at all for a long time, and we really don’t know much about it now! What we do know is that it sports a dual flywheel propulsion system, either semi or full-auto firing, sling attachment points, a tactical rail, and a stock that can store 10 extra rounds. It has also been given an advertised range of 75 feet. Read the full post on this blaster here.
MESSAGE TO MY UNITED KINGDOM VIEWERS Send me a picture of you with your stockade and I’ll feature it here! ;D
I also spotted this bit of news on BasicNerf‘s blog, so once again original credit goes to him.
